Emotion Vs Rationale

Wednesday, October 11th, 2006

emotion:

1. an affective state of consciousness in which joy, sorrow, fear, hate, or the like, is experienced, as distinguished from cognitive and volitional states of consciousness.
2. any of the feelings of joy, sorrow, fear, hate, love, etc.
3. any strong agitation of the feelings actuated by experiencing love, hate, fear, etc., and usually accompanied by certain physiological changes, as increased heartbeat or respiration, and often overt manifestation, as crying or shaking.

rationale:

1. the fundamental reason or reasons serving to account for something.
2. a statement of reasons.
3. a reasoned exposition of principles.

it is so true. when emotion tends to take over someone, the person tends to lose all rationale. as a result they cant even distinguish between true or false and right or wrong. but by the time rationale takes over, usually it will be too late for certain things to be undone.

when emotion versus rationale, most of the time emotion wins, resulting all the sad stories we see and hear today. if ppl were more rationale, mayb the world would be a better place to live in.
